- Introduce yourself and provide an overview of the class structure.
- Welcome first-time participants, assess their experience level privately and offer modifications as needed.
- Ensure clear communication by adjusting music and microphone levels for an optimal experience.
- Monitor participants for proper form and provide corrections or variations to accommodate all fitness levels.
- Create a positive, high-energy atmosphere that motivates and challenges participants.
- Properly store music, microphone, and any equipment used during the class.
- Ensure the studio is clean and ready for the next class.
- Engage with members, answering questions and gathering feedback.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Start and end classes on time, adjusting the workout flow to fit the scheduled duration.
- Secure a qualified substitute if unable to teach and notify the Group Exercise Director if a substitute is unavailable.
- Maintain consistency and reliability in class scheduling.
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Accurately record work hours and follow timekeeping procedures.
- Report any incidents or injuries as needed.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude that supports the gym’s mission and community.
- Strong knowledge of cycling techniques, safe exercise principles, and group fitness instruction.
- Ability to coach participants of all fitness levels with clear and engaging communication.
- Experience with performance-based and rhythm-based cycling formats.
- Proficiency in using and troubleshooting studio audio equipment.
- Group Fitness or Cycling Certification (ACE, AFAA, Schwinn, Stages, Spinning®, etc.).
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
- Physical ability to ride and demonstrate movements effectively, including standing climbs, sprints, and endurance drills.
